On offer is the ex. Alkor that was built in 1966 in Germany as a research ship for renowned German research institute GEOMAR. She logged an impressive 326,000nm roaming the Baltic and North Sea during that service.
In the 1990s ALK was refurbished in the Netherlands to become a private pleasure yacht. In the 2000s ALK received further upgrades to operate a submarine from her deck, all while maintaining her excellent seagoing characteristics and sturdy character.
Her top speed is 11 knots with a maximum cruising range of 4,000 Nm at 9.5 knots. Powered by a 425HP Deutz diesel engine, operating very economically at 60 liters/hours at cruise speed.
She can accommodate up to 15 persons and is the ideal yacht for an owner looking to cruise the world with a highly seaworthy and spacious vessel. Equipped with an 8-ton certified A-frame crane and integrated dive center, she can handle a wide range of submersibles - yet adding another dimension for exploration.
The vessel was dry-docked in the first half of 2023 for extensive works on the keel, hull and propulsion system. She is now offered for sale to host another's family adventures. She has no commercial registration but operates as private yacht under Dutch flag.
