Beautiful Classic Cruise Ship now offered for Charter

New owners of this classic gem have asked us to find a new charter for her. The ship has Polar Code certification and is ready to go. Located in the UK.

Year built: 1964

Ship building company: Mathias-Theesen Werft, Wismar, Germany

Ship design: Ivan Franco (“poet”/“writer” class). Five sister-ships – the “five poets”.

Port of registry: Nassau (Bahamas)

Passenger capacity: 820 (915 max) in 425 cabins, crew: 356

Weight: 22,080 tons, length: 176,3 m (578,4 ft), width: 23,6 m (77,3 ft), draft 8,2 m (27 ft)

Speed 19,5 knots (36 kph; 22,4 mph)

Major refits: 1991-1993 (for US $60 million), last major refurbishment 2010, last refurbished 2014

Engines: two Sulzer-Cegielski diesels 7RND76 (15447 kW combined power output).

The ship’s last refurbishment was in November 2014 in Holland.

The work was done at the Damen shipyard. The dry-dock stay featured an extensive vessel special survey, followed by regular maintenance work, high-pressure hull washing, painting, valves overhaul, lifeboats maintenance, recertification, gangway platforms repair, etc.

She represents one of the last real ocean liners that offer a comfortable ‘round the world’ cruise in a classic maritime setting which sets her apart from any of the modern large cruise ships that are designed for maximum capacity and short cruises only. Due to her average large size of the cabins she would also be a good choice for a floating hotel and beautiful feature for any port. She is in good operational condition and will be available for delivery without delay.
