running hours only 11.000 and since last overhaul 1.500 each
Vessel can sail on 1,2 or 3 engines thus very fuel efficient!

This vessel was always owned by the German Government, and although originally built 1967, was rebuilt  1982 in parts of engine room and accommodation, the ship is still looking in ‘as new’ condition. She has now a specially designed ice breaking bow installed that was for research purposes but this can simply be removed.The Archive Photo shows her without the bow as originally built. The attached picture shows her as of today with the ‘ice bow’ that can be removed.
